Palazzo del Podestà

The Palazzo del Podestà, originally belonging to the Bissari family, was purchased in 1211 by the Commune as the Podestà's official residence.
Probably bigger than it is now, with a ground-plan in the shape of a "U" opening towards the south, it had annexed the "Tower of the Bissari". In the course of the centuries, until after the war, it was several times renovated.
