Piazza Matteotti

Piazza Matteotti is at the end of Corso Andrea Palladio. In ancient times (the toponym still remains) it was called "piazza dell'Isola", because of its being surrounded by the water of the Bacchiglione; up to the end of the 19th it was the port of Vicenza.
The imposing facade of Palazzo Chiericati dominates the square. On the left of the Palladian palazzo stand the Teatro Olimpico and Palazzo del Territorio.
