Cathedral Bell-tower
or Torre del Duomo
The Bell-tower was probably one of the towers of an ancient castle of the Bishop; another tower, on the south side of Piazza Duomo, was still standing in the 19th century.
It dates back to the 19th century and was built according to the techniques of Roman building, which is why it is believed to be more ancient. It rests on a square base (11.30 metres each side) of blocks of granite with Roman elements inserted. Each face is ornamented with a decoration of hanging arches and the belfry opens out in four two-arched windows.
