Chapel of the Sacra Famiglia of the Istituto Canossiano of Schio

The Chapel of the Sacra Famiglia forms part of the whole Institute complex run by the Canossian Daughters of Charity. It was built by Bartolomeo Folladore, work starting in 1850 and being completed in 1901 by his son Gioachino. It repeats the model of the Pantheon reduced to a third its size.
The four paintings hanging in the large niches running along the circular wall are by the painter Mincato.
The Chapel preserves the mortal spoils of Blessed Sister Giuseppina Bakhita who will be canonised in Rome in St Peter's Square on 2 October, 2000.
