Church of St Vincent

The Church of St Vincent, co-patron saint of the town together with the Virgin of Monte Berico and San Gaetano da Thiene, stands in Piazza dei Signori, in the centre of Monte di Pietà.
The church facade (1614-17) is the work of Paolo Bonin. The two loggias are crowned by a sculpture with "Christ mourned by the Angels" (1617), a sculptural masterpiece by the hand of Giambattista Albanese. At the top another 5 statues by Albanese, restored after the 1945 bombing, of the saints Vincent, Felice and Fortunato, Leonzio and Carpoforo.
Behind the facade is the little Gothic church of 1385-87 which was originally aligned parallel to the square, with its entrance on Contrà del Monte. The later building of Monte di Pietà (end of 15th century) modified its position and the side door became the main door.
Inside we find: the 14th century arch of Simone da Sarego, the frescoes commissioned by him, and the altar of the Pietà, a masterpiece by Orazio Marinali of 1689.
The late Romanesque campanile was restored in 1733.
