Oratory of St Christopher

The Oratory is also called Santa Maria dei Trovatelli (Our Lady of Homeless Children) because originally it was annexed to the Homeless Children's Institute of the Battuti Confraternity.
It is one of the rare examples of Vicenza sacred Gothic of the 15th century.
Above the entrance portal there is a sculptured group "Madonna with the saints Christopher and Vincent", attributed to Giovanni or Agostino de' Fondulis. These are faithful copies, the originals being kept in the Museo Civico. Above the sculptures there is a Baroque canopy attributed to Orazio Marinali.
The oratory, stripped of all its furnishing, stands adjacent to the Pigafetta High school and is not used for religious ceremonies.
