Oratory of the Zitelle

The Oratory of the Zitelle (the Virgins) was built in 1647 as an institution for the assistance and upbringing of poor young maids. The institute was originally called Pia Casa Santa Maria delle Vergini, but then became delle Zitelle. The design of the building is presumed to be by Antonio Pizzocaro.
Inside there are precious 17th and 18th century paintings by Francesco Maffei ("Crucifixion"), Giulio Carpioni ("Annunciation"), Costantino Pasqualotto and Fortunato Parmigiano.
The church has been de-consecrated.
