Buses, trains, taxis

The tourist has various means of transport at his disposal:

  • town buses AIM with 18 routes;
  • the "centrobus" which leaves from three car-parks with three routes towards the historic centre;
  • a radio taxi service with automatic 24-hour service nights and holidays - for booking tel. 0444 920600 - and night taxi service at Piazzale della Stazione - for bookings tel. 0444 324596;
  • trains at Vicenza railway station in viale Venezia. Vicenza is on the Venice-Milan route, so towns like Verona, Padua and others can be reached easily. For information tel. 1478 88088 every day from 7.00 to 21.00, or tel. 0444 326707. Tickets can be bought at the station or from authorised agencies, and must be stamped at the station of departure (before getting on the train);
  • FTV in viale Milano 138 - for information tel. 0444 223115. Ordinary one-way tickets can be bought in all the sales points in the province, or on the bus itself by paying an extra percent to the driver. Once on the bus they have to be stamped in the special machine provided.
